It’s time to wrap up everything I’ve been loving during the month of July (with the exception of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which I loved with all of my heart on the very last day of July). This month I have a great range of products, artwork, experiences, food, magazines and books to chat about, all of which are linked below!
One of my favourite aspects of blogging is the ability to be accountable to yourself – to set goals which you not only see, but so do your followers! At the beginning of this year, I set myself some reading goals; resolutions I wanted to put in place when it came to my choice in books and reading material. Now that it’s halfway through the year, I’m checking in with myself to see how I’m going and I’m sharing the books I’ve been loving this year and the ones I’m excited to read next!
I’ve been getting a few questions about the plant life which lives beside Sim, Jag and I in our house and which is visible in my vlogs. So, I thought it was time to make a video dedicated to our indoor plants! Coincidentally the weekend I filmed this video was also the weekend Sim decided to start building a veggie patch in our backyard, so there’s extra planty goodness for all!
I’ve been wanting to visit the New York Public Library ever since Mr. Big stood up Carrie on their wedding day (jerk) in the Sex and the City movie. If you need a quick refresher, watch that scene here and enjoy Charlotte’s face of wrath. Any of you who have been following my blog for a while will know that I’m a big fan of public libraries. If you’re also the kind of person who experiences a warm fuzziness within the walls of a library then I highly recommend you check out Ali Smith’s collection of short stories aptly named Public Library, of which I’ve written a full blog post about here.
Anyway, keeping that in mind, I was so thrilled to be able to visit New York’s absolutely stunning library yesterday and I’m equally as excited to share some of my snaps with you!
I mean, what a gorgeous building. The interior is even more beautiful and I spent about an hour or so getting lost within its walls. I was also able to sign up to get a membership because I’m in New York for study purposes! How cool!
I thought it was worth mentioning that the NYPL is located within the beautiful Bryant Park (see below) so it’s the perfect place to grab a book and a cold drink and hang out to read the afternoon away.
Here you’ll find all the books, beauty products and bits and bobs I packed in my carry-on bag for the long haul flight between Melbourne > New York. Now that the flight is over, I’m quite happy with everything I brought with me, although I definitely didn’t need extra coats and scarves once I arrived in New York – summer is real right now.
Seeing as it’s June and we’re already halfway through 2016 (argh!) I thought it would be a good time to reflect on how I’ve been going with the resolutions I made for myself at the beginning of the year. What goals have you set for yourself this year? Do you find new year resolutions to be helpful? Let me know your thought in the comments below!
Today marks only SIX days until I fly out from Melbourne and over to New York City – I can barely contain my excitement! I’m in NY for two weeks and I’m putting it out there for any of you who have visited this incredible city or know a lot about the city to throw suggestions my way about what I need to do while I’m over there.
It’s here again, monthly favourites time! May has been a pretty great month for me and I’ve collected quite a few products, mostly beauty bits, which I’ve been loving this month. Keep reading for all the details or watch my Monthly Favourites video!
You know those days where you wake up feeling poorly and there’s nothing you’d like to do more than turn off your alarm, slide further down into your bed and only leave your warm nest to forage food and cups of tea? Well, you’re not alone. This blog post is all about helping you rest and relax on those type of days.
