Controversially, my post today is all about judging books by their covers. If you’re a reader of my blog, or if you’ve just had a quick look over this website, you’ll know that I love books.
Not only do I love the ideas, worlds and stories that are nestled between the pages – but I also love books as an object. I love the feeling of picking up a book, feeling the material they’re made out of, the interesting and engaging front cover design, the way the spine is bound – ah! Just thinking about it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
So, in today’s video, I am sharing with you guys my favourite book covers that are currently on my bookshelves. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it:
Familiar Things by Hwang Sok-Yong
Things That Helped by Jessica Freidmann
Walking in Berlin by Franz Hessel
Dark Roots by Cate Kennedy (same book, different cover)
The Mothers by Brit Bennett
The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber
The Museum of Modern Love by Heather Rose
