February Favourites

It’s time to wrap up the mini month of February and reflect on the things that have been rocking my world these past few weeks…

1. Fleur DeForce

I have quite a few favourite vlog channels I watch on YouTube every day (I’m thinking a list of my favourites might be an upcoming blog post, what do you think?) but this month I’ve been having a real Fleur DeForce moment. I’ve been following Fleur for about a year now but for some reason this month I’ve found myself watching her channel non-stop, in particular I’ve been loving her vlog channel.

Fleur is a UK-based fashion, beauty and lifestyle vlogger/blogger and it’s her down-to-earth, friendly style of vlogging that keeps me interested and excited to watch each video she uploads. I know some people don’t understand how daily vlogs are interesting to watch because it’s ‘just watching someone live their daily life’ – right? But I draw so much inspiration and motivation from watching bloggers go about their work life and Fleur, in particular, seems like such a self-motivated, humble and driven person. Also, her English countryside house & three dogs give me serious life inspiration.

2. Going digital-less after 9pm

This isn’t something I’ve completely mastered yet but this month I’ve been making more of a conscious effort to not be on my phone or laptop any later than 9pm. I know I’m not alone in having my phone permanently attached to my hand and scrolling through Instagram/Twitter/Pinterest/Facebook is a habit I do without even thinking, but as I spend most of my days looking at a computer screen I really want to give my eyes a rest at night. Instead, I’ve been picking up a book, making a cup of tea and gettin’ cosy between some cushions while leaving my phone in the other room so I’m not tempted by notifications. I love reading so it’s not an arduous task but actively avoiding my phone is something I have to remind myself to do and so far I’m loving having digital-free evenings!

3. L’Oreal True Match Foundation

I started wearing L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation last year and since then they’ve released a new and, in my opinion, improved formula. I recently picked up a fresh bottle in C3 Rose Beige and it’s quite a bit better than the first formula. I have a whole blog post coming up on this foundation and the differences since the new launch so keep an eye out for that in the next week or so.

4. Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

In the last week of Feb I picked up Jane Austen’s classic novel Northanger Abbey from Dymocks bookshop. As part of my 2016 reading resolutions, I’ve set myself the goal of reading at least 3 classic novels. Aside from Jane Eyre, I haven’t read many classics and it’s a genre I’d really like to venture into a little more. So far, I’m enjoying Northanger Abbey, especially as it’s so different to the other books I’m currently reading. Also, I assume Northanger Abbey has been adapted into a movie or television series so if you have a recommendation on the best adaptation definitely let me know in the comments below!

I hope you’ve all had an excellent month! As always, I’d love to hear about what you’ve been loving during the month of February so leave me a comment 🙂 x

I have the habit of going digital-less, too. I switch off my mobile after 7p.m. Great that it’s been working well for you!
