Market Lane Coffee is, so far, my favourite coffee shop in Melbourne. Now that’s a pretty big statement because Melbourne as a city takes the production, look, smell, taste and everything about coffee pretty seriously. There are so many beautiful cafes and coffee shops everywhere you go in Melbourne and I bloody love it!
Market Lane Coffee are all about sourcing, roasting and brewing fabulous coffee. They only serve coffee which is in season and everything is brewed in their Prahran Market roastery. Market Lane stores are currently in four different locations; I regularly pop into the walk-in cafe at the Queen Victoria Markets. The vibe is super lovely, the staff are friendly and the coffee tastes better than any brew I’ve ever had before. I’ve got my eye on some of their freshly ground takeaway beans, for sure.
Just while I’m on the topic of coffee, I’ve recently invested in a keepcup. I buy a cup of coffee most days which, in turn, creates a lot of unnecessary environmental waste. According to ABC, disposable coffee cups are filling landfill spaces in Australia so rapidly that it’s becoming a ‘major pollution hazard’. I’m not so keen on ruining this beautiful environment that we are so lucky to dwell in, so I’m more than happy to turn my coffee-drinking into a sustainable affair.
Check out Market Lane Coffee in these various locations around Melbourne: Prahran Market, Queen Victoria Markets, Therry Street and Carlton. And if you’re super into coffee, be sure to check out their fancy brewing equipment, which I’m way too much of a novice to understand but appreciate nonetheless.
